In Vedic astrology personality is read first from the lagna, the sign rising at your birth, which describes your temperament, body and the way others see you. The Moon sign comes next: it describes your mind, moods and emotional needs.
When the two signs are alike in element, people tend to be what they seem. When they differ, the face you show and the person inside can be quite different, and both readings are true.
The lagna changes about every two hours, so an accurate birth time matters more here than almost anywhere else.
