Remedies for each direction that is not ideal
- Shift the burner to the south-east side. Relocating just the flame within the room recovers the fire corner without rebuilding the kitchen
- Place a copper or brass vessel on the north counter. Metal in the north zone helps offset the fire element that does not belong there
- Relocate the stove to the south-east if at all possible. No in-place remedy fully offsets fire in the north-east, so moving the flame is the real fix
- Keep the north-east corner clean and free of heavy storage. A light, clear north-east reduces the disturbance a kitchen creates in this zone
- Move the flame to the south-east of the room. Even within an east kitchen, shifting the burner to the south-east side recovers the fire corner
- Keep the south wall clear of clutter. An uncluttered wall behind the cooking zone stops heat energy from stagnating in the room
- Store heavy items along the south-west wall. Weight in the south-west restores the grounding this corner is meant to provide
- Avoid keeping the flame lit longer than needed. Limiting burn time reduces the fire energy pushed into an earth-governed corner
- Cook facing east where possible. Turning the cook toward the east restores some of the fire energy this corner lacks
