Dasha calculator
The Vimshottari dasha divides a life into periods ruled by the nine grahas. This shows the mahadasha and antardasha you are in now, and every period with its dates.
Your birth details
How it is worked out
The Vimshottari cycle lasts 120 years: Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19 and Mercury 17. The first period of your life belongs to the ruler of your Moon’s nakshatra.
You are born part-way through that first period, and how far the Moon had moved through its nakshatra decides how much was left. That is why the exact degree of the Moon, and so the time of birth, matters.
Each mahadasha divides into nine antardashas in the same order, each taking a share in proportion to its own years. Tap any period to see the antardashas inside it.
