Questions
Why is Shivratri worship done at midnight?
Nishita, the middle of the night, is held to be the time of Shiva’s manifestation as the linga, so the main worship of Shivratri is done then.
How is Maha Shivratri different from Masik Shivratri?
Maha Shivratri is the Shivratri of Phalguna (Magha amanta), the most important of the year; the other eleven or twelve are Masik, monthly, Shivratri.
